What Can You Even Say

As I am sure all of you know, yesterday\’s bridge collapse in Minneapolis was a shocking and tragic event.

There isn\’t anything we here at SP can say except that are thoughts and prayers go out to those directly affected by this tragedy. Although it may sound trite, it does perfectly capture our feelings, and feelings of those literally around the globe.

We are thankful here at SP that all of our immediate family and close friends have been accounted for.

If you would like to help, please give blood or donate to the Red Cross.

Wade – that link doesn’t seem to load for me…
I think it could have been so much worse. Thank goodness it fell somewhat intact, thank goodness in reality for the construction work, or there would have been what, twice, three times as many cars on it? I agree with wadE, so what if it’s trite, thoughts and prayers to all affected. I know we were all calling around last night, making sure the ones we love were/are safe…

Ugh, that is the first I read that people were still alive and rescuers were unable to get to them. Knowing you are going to die must be the most horrific feeling…

I know rush hour seems bad, but imagine if it was like 9 or 10 o’clock at night and people were going 60 miles an hour… how many cars would end up careening off the embankment before they were able to cross the road. That might be a reason to keep my speeding down.

the link was to an article about t-paw ordering a statewide inspection of all bridges. i guess i would have rather / also seen a commitment to, for example, expanding mass transit options like the light rail.

Wade Wade Wade… haven’t you read the right-wing opinions? this tragedy happened b/c we’ve focused too much time and money on light rail and bike paths. :-\
