Sick Day

Oy. I'm not sure if it's a cold, the flu, or chlamydia, but something is not quite right with me today. I don't think it's the flu, since I've never really felt.. *this way* before.... but that's the only thing I can think of. After dinner last night I took a three hour nap, woke up, went upstairs and went directly to bed. Your standard 11 hours of sleep. I'm also not very sure how I feel about solid foods right now...

But not all is bleak. There are a lot of good things about taking a sick day. For example...

1. Sportscenter It seems like sick days are the only times I watch Sportscenter anymore. It's like going home to old friends, even though I don't know any of the anchors anymore. Does anyone else find themselves watching the same hour-long episode of Sportscenter three or four times in a row? Maybe it's just me.

2. Soup I'm a big soup guy. No better excuse to have it five times in one day.

3. Web surfing Nice to get through the entire startribune.com site without being concerned about co-workers walking behind me. Plus I can actually get a gambit up before noon. :-P

4. All-day jammies Shower? Shave? No thank you. Not today.

5. Game shows Saving the best for last. There's nothing like regaling in The Price is Right or.. well.. hell, that's about all that's left, isn't it? Whatever happened to all three networks being loaded with game shows during weekday mornings? Oh yeah. I remember. Now that 46% of all U.S. citizens have their own talk show, there's no more time slots left. There probably wasn't much social worthiness to Password or Press Your Luck, but you'd have a hard time convincing me that Maury or Judge Hatchett are any better...

See? It's a good thing. You should try it. Tomorrow.
