Hi. Thanks for stopping by. No, seriously. It seems like there have been a lot more of you lately. I’m short on time, patience, and energy today, so I’m using the Gambit simply to say thank you. The just-completed month of January saw more visitors to our site than in any of the previous 23 months. We only narrowly missed making that two full calendar years.

Whatever it is that we’re doing, we vow to keep doing it. We hope you’ll keep coming back for more.

No, the other one, the one with the goatee… the guy at the top of the page who looks like he’s boxing holding an electric canned ham in each hand.

Yeah!  That guy. 

So if you hadn’t noticed, I’d been gone for awhile.  I was in the hospital recovering from a bout with … ok, I’m lying for your sympathy.  In fact I was in Australia and New Zealand for 3 weeks, and then dealing with re-entry back into my job after that.  I know, you can stop crying for me now. 

At any rate, I’m catching up on the changes and good work that’s been happening on SP since I’ve been gone, and you can look forward to me actually participating very soon. 

I promise.

Ah yes… ’tis the season to ignore things you hold near and dear because of work and general life.

Yes yes, it’s an excuse you’ve heard before… but it true.  Just as true as the world’s tallest man saving dolphins… seriously.

Things have been so crummy as of late that I’m quite tardy on the celebration of Simpleprop’s 5th Birthday!!!  So a belated 5th birthday to us!

Hey Folks.

We’ve switched our comments to the built-in system (trying to streamline things around here a bit), and I’m sorry to say in the process I destroyed all your old comments.  At least we’ve only been up and running for a week.  All new posts going forward will have comments open, and when I get time I’ll go back and turn ‘em on for the old posts, so you can go back and re-live the glory of past conversations (if you so choose).

For now we’ll have the only requirement be to provide name and email address to post.  If the SPAM gets to be too much, we’ll put something more onerous in place.
