From today’s cull of the internets:
An article by Ben Stein (Anyone? Anyone?) about what’s new and exciting (or terrible) in money today.
I believe the sad part is that nothing that he’s saying is surprising to me.

I’ve been slacking on the COTD, so I’ll make it up to you all by posting two things today. First off is this unfortunate Chinese home owner. Somehow I doubt that the legality of that develepor’s maneuver would fly in the US.
Second is the following video, and props to Jess for the find on this one:
For days now, the weather forecasts have said there will be a blizzard today. When I woke up this morning the helpful weather person on TV said that the snow will start this morning, and that from roughly 3-8PM that we will have blizzard conditions, and that if you can avoid commuting this evening, that you should. The Weather Channel has sent a reporter here. Basically they’re (The Weather Channel) saying that conditions are going to be bad enough that they’ll put it on TV and people around the world will exclaim Holy ****, look at all that snow!
So naturally I’m at school right now. Sometimes I truly am amazed by the short-sightedness of beauracracy. Not that other people aren’t at work when they shouldn’t be, but there’s always such a hue and cry about the welfare of children, that you’d think a rational person would look at this and think that perhaps we shouldn’t put busses on the road during a blizzard.
(Naturally I’ll also admit that I’m looking out for my own interests, the interest I have in getting at least a partial day off. Still.)
