I know, I know. Technically not a blog post.
But let’s try this on for size. That’s past a third of a trillion dollars. It’s represented in an equall unfathomable number of college scholarships. And let’s not even get into how staggering it would be represented in items from the Wendy’s dollar menu. Oh, wait.
Seriously, though. With that kind of money, you could give thirty million people a thousand dollars each. That’s ten percent of the US population. Wouldn’t that be a more popular political move than the current permanent tax cuts for less than one percent of the population? Of course, there are even more altruistic things you could do with that money - but it’s already gone. Already spent on a war predicated on WMDs that we knew were never there.
