Chocolate Bunnies

I got a great unsolicited e-mail from Amazon today, offering me a full 47% off of:

This.

The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies? Of the Apocalypse?! That title is, dare I say, fucking great!

Scrolling down the product page, I can see that I was sent this item because of my recent purchase of a book called The Eyre Affair, which I have not yet read. However, reading the summary of THCBOTA, it certainly seems like the kind of book I’d dig. I guess don’t be surprised if you see a review of this sucker over at the main site someday.

Oh, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out that this is not the Amazon book title that made me giggle the most. That’s this one right here. I’m so mature.

Easy choice tonight:

Yes, I am an unabashed Olbermann fan. No, it’s not merely because I used to watch him on SportsCenter. His show takes a critical look at the world. It offers up its voice in support of freedom, and that voice (in my opinion) is too rarely heard these days. I stand with his recent ’special comments’, and like he’s been saying, you don’t have to. We have the freedom to disagree. I hope that Mr. Olbermann will continue to speak his mind, and I will continue to applaud it, even on the occasions where he will not speak for my viewpoint as well.

Blog Post of the Day* - 9-15-06

Wow. I’d read about this story a couple weeks back, but I had no idea that it was a guy who’s blog I used to read pretty consistently. It almost feels like I’m more involved this way. Heh.

*Yeah, so maybe I’ll do this somewhat frequently. I read a lot of other blogs.

I just like the tone of this entry. Reminds me of me.

*Note: this almost certainly does not indicate that I will be singling out a specific blog post each and every day.

Calories

An off-the-cuff summary of the foods I ate this weekend:

  • A Long John Silver’s meal combo.
  • Package of Mini-muffins.
  • Two normal sized bottles of Gatorade.
  • Small handfull of mini-Snickers bars (no more than a half-dozen, total).
  • Couple of pieces of beef jerky.
  • Three or four pieces of garlic cheese bread; four pieces of deep-dish pizza.
  • A chocolate chip cookie coffee cake.
  • Bag of jelly beans.
  • One bite of a choco taco.
  • Three glasses of Coke.
  • Two 16oz cups of coffee.

That’s fairly accurate…

I played six games of ultimate frisbee over that time span, at 1.5 hours each, for a total of nine hours of activity. Since we had enough men to split time at 50% exactly, I can assume I engaged in four and a half hours of activity. By the metrics on this site, I can assume I burned off 3000 of those calories over the weekend.

I think I can safely say that I should probably eat more when I play.
