Will Ferrell? True, he is almost as funny as my Gramma's rectal cancer. I will come up with a Unified Field Theory before I ever understand his popularity. Next to him, that tumor smells like Chanel #5. Good call on Sandler though. Blecchhh.

hankfully I found a website to help me out with this one: “SNL’s only openly gay cast member, Terry’s first sketch had him playing a gay man, and most of his roles throughout the season too were gay related. Most of his impressions were of women too, including Nancy Reagan, Joan Collins, and Joan Rivers. Since then, we believed he locked himself in a shed.” Ouch, that seemed a little harsh. I vaguely remember this guy. He was mostly a writer for the show before his one year in front of the camera.

A comprehensive and clever update of your previous post.
I agree Anthony Michael Hall was ill suited but I'd rank him further back than the forgettable performances of Collin Quin and the excruciatingly annoying Gilbert Gottfried.
Lorne Michaels is one of the most powerful Canadians in the comedy business - Canada's number one export is people from the comedy and music industry.
Phil Hartman will always be the quintessential SNLer (Give it to me straight!) and he teemed well with John Lovitz - I'm in the love camp there. He was also the best guest voice/character the Simpsons ever had or will ever have (another show in sore decline), practically a regular.
Even though there have been better seasons I still have a soft spot for the 1st season ('75) when it truly was live and not ready for prime time.
