I agree Anthony Michael Hall was ill suited but I&#039;d rank him further back than the forgettable performances of Collin Quin and the excruciatingly annoying Gilbert Gottfried.
Lorne Michaels is one of the most powerful Canadians in the comedy business - Canada&#039;s number one export is people from the comedy and music industry. 
Phil Hartman will always be the quintessential SNLer  (Give it to me straight!) and he teemed well with John Lovitz - I&#039;m in the love camp there. He was also the best guest voice/character the Simpsons ever had or will ever have (another show in sore decline), practically a regular.  
Even though there have been better seasons I still have a soft spot for the 1st season (&#039;75) when it truly was live and not ready for prime time.</description>
