terry ryan gets a lot of good press in this town for his abilities as twins g.m. and, for the most part, it’s deserved. johan santana for jared camp. liriano, bonser, and nathan for a.j. pierzynski. drafting joe mauer over prior. i’m not going to nick him for releasing david ortiz; anyone who says that was a bad move isn’t remembering biggie’s propensity to injure himself from 1997 to 2002. anyway, he’s made some great moves.

There are deadly jellyfish moving south in Australia, and ‘they’ are saying it’s due to global warming. What I’m more concerned with is that the jellyfish are apparently even more deadly than another Kate Hudson/Matthew McConaughey movie.

so, apparently there is something called micheal ray richardson who is a former NBA all-star but was suspended in 1986 for cocaine use. until he was suspended yesterday, he was coaching the CBA albany patroons in that league’s championship series. however, he’s now been banned from the team’s practices and games. why?

so, i need some calmness in my morning to help me deal with the fact that it’s, well, morning. i have friends who listen to loud, up-tempo music to help them wake up, but that would never work for me. i need something softer– your james taylor, your ben folds, your pre-1996 counting crows. alternatively, i’ve often tuned into talk radio in the morning: it’s pretty undemanding, and not very noisy or annoying. it helps me ease into my day.
